I’ve got a riddle for you. What can stand…and sit… at the same time?
Ok, ok. I'll keep my day job. Which reminds me – if you ever have standing (or sitting) water in your home, it’s important to call us right away. Hi, I’m Tracy Comp, the owner of Mustang Disaster Cleanup.
When water stands, drywall soaks up water like a sponge. It’s called capillary attraction. And that’s when mold can start if the moisture stays around too long.
Mold can start growing at only 60% moisture. Some even at 45%!
Time is of the essence when you have water damage. It's better to call right away. We'll even give you a few tips over the phone so you can potentially decrease the damage before we get there.
If water stood up on the sides of your walls for just a little bit... you better believe that capillary attraction was at work, and you have wet drywall behind your walls.
And if you have questions about whether it's wet behind your walls, we don't have to tear everything apart to check. We'll use our moisture tester. It's nice to know for sure if everything is dry.
